Meet the Heart Behind SameWays

Theresa Whitford

Theresa Whitford

Registered Manager

In 1987 I was offered a position as a carer, for the summer holidays, in a care home locally in Oxford. This was not my intended career, far from it. But after spending 6 weeks working alongside a team of very dedicated staff and assisting very interesting residents, I decided this was the job for me.

I worked my way up the career ladder over several years, learning, training and working within the multidisciplinary teams within Oxford.

After successfully managing several Care Homes in Oxfordshire, for over 24 years, I have moved into domiciliary care to share my expertise in the community.

I have been the Registered Manager for Same Ways Care Ltd for the past 2 years. I have a passion for our care team to deliver Person-Centered Care for our clients.

YEAH!!!!! Grammy is coming to live with us now. That was mid-year of my final Uni days in 2015. Grammy was now living with dementia and that meant she needed 24hr care. This is when my career in care started. It was so rewarding to care for Grammy, and yet, so stressful. I didn’t understand what she was going through. I spent a few days a week as a volunteer at a local care home which helped me gain the experience and training that I needed to understand more.

A few years down the line, Grammy was taken from us. I then began working as a part time healthcare assistant at a local hospital in Zimbabwe to heal, and to give care to those that had no family close by.

Fast forward to 2022, an opportunity arose to relocate to the UK.
I worked as a domiciliary and support care worker whilst upgrading my knowledge and skills, Skills that led me to Same Ways Care Ltd as a senior carer.

I enjoy my job, and waking up each day to make a difference in people’s lives is highly rewarding. My journey has just started, but with training and skills development I hope to make a big difference.

Office Manager

My career in care began in 1983 when I was just 16. I always knew that I wanted to work in the care industry and began in a local nursing home as a care assistant. I have worked in care homes and in domiciliary care throughout my 42-year career and have continued to gain up to date knowledge from regular training in line with changes in legislation. I welcome the many changes that have led us to the person centered, dignified care which is currently provided. I have gained qualifications which have helped me progress to leadership roles. I bring a wealth of experience to my role at Same Ways Care Ltd which allows me to continue to visit our clients in the field and gives me the opportunity to train the care team, promote the company, and hopefully make a difference behind the scenes.

Director of Care

I began my career working in a mental health hospital where I stayed for many years.

I have worked with local groups as a volunteer and have been on many committees.

It was when I worked with the Orders of St John that I began a more involved role, delivering training and gaining qualifications to move up to a senior role.

My passion for caring led to Lucian and I opening Same Ways Care Ltd in 2018.

I have never looked back, I continue to enjoy working with an exceptional team to deliver the highest standard of care to our clients.

I continue to keep up to date with legislation and training. I enjoy meeting so many interesting people and am looking forward to a positive future for the company.

Financial Director

My career began in Romania where I attended Public Administration University following my schooling.

I worked as an accountant in a yeast factory and later became a bank manager.

In August 2013 I came to England and gained experience in domiciliary and live in care. I’ve worked with various client groups including elderly care and learning disabilities and gained invaluable knowledge and experience.
I enjoy working in the care industry and after meeting Tracey, we decided to open Same Ways Care in 2018.

I enjoy working with an excellent team around me. I look forward to the future of Same Ways Care and making a difference to the lives of the clients we support.
